Dubai: Ticket sales for the Emirates airline Dubai Rugby Sevens, which went on sale just a few weeks ago, have been brisk and a turnout in excess of 100,000 is expected by the organisers. The event is scheduled from December 3 to 5.

Response to this year’s ticket sales launch has been phenomenal, amid a number of promotions and activities. This includes the Launch Party, which saw over 1,500 rugby fanatics attend and further activities planned for the coming weeks at key locations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the early sales, Donal Kilalea, Tournament Commercial and Operations Manager said: “The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is one of the biggest sporting events in the UAE calendar and we are delighted to see ticket sales going so well. The entire weekend will be a great family outing with increased activities provided by both us and our sponsors and we also have the designated dnata family stand.

“In addition, we have brand new on-pitch entertainment from the Tennessee Cheerleaders and a huge range of food and beverage outlets, free parking for 12,000 cars and a free bus service to eleven destinations across Dubai in the evenings, so everyone can enjoy the party and get home safely.”
