Ajman: Having different sports under one roof has its own advantages, especially for growing kids who would want to try out everything when they start off.

Situated at Manama Mall in Ajman, Michi Sports offers varied options including basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess, martial arts and yoga in the spacious hall.

“We have a big area giving many options for our members to choose. This also will give them an opportunity to watch and choose what they want to take up,” said Michi Sports managing director Sakir Hussain.

The concept took shape in 2009 and has grown tremendously due to its high quality service.

“We have excellent indoor facilities and 15 highly qualified coaches with lot of experience who take care of the kids,” Hussain added.

They have also opened annual academies for basketball, swimming and have launched their cricket academy recently across Ajman and Sharjah.

“We run the camps round the year and have special camps for summers and train over 500 kids. We are also planning to start football camps very soon,” he said.

“We run our camps very professionally. It’s not just to keep the kids busy for those two months or throughout the year but to bring the best out of them and identify their talent and help them pursue it seriously in the future,” Hussain added.

The academies also focus hugely on fitness, giving it top priority. “Fitness is the key for any sports person, especially for growing kids. So as soon as the kids arrive we have a compulsory fitness session,” Hussain said.

Hussain added the best boys in the academy are picked to represent tournaments which give them the important match exposure. “We also pick up the best players build a team and then send them to the tournaments. Our basketball team has done really well in the recent tournaments.

“We are now planning to send our teams abroad to play against professional clubs in the Europe. This will give them very good exposure and also get to understand the game better at a different level,” he said.

Transportation is also arranged based on the requirement but to limited areas.
