London: Regardless of proving his greatness on the track, Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt was unwavering in his commitment to living life in the fast lane as he swapped his trademark golden spikes for pair of bright blue trainers for a night out at the trendy Cirque le Soir in London’s bustling district of Soho.

A winner of the 100 metres, 200 m and 4x100 m gold medals, Bolt was seen in the company of several glamourous women as he partied hard whilst celebrating his 30th birthday until the wee hours on Monday night.

According to leading UK tabloids The Sun, Mirror and Daily Mail, when he finally called it a day, and jumped into a waiting black cab at 5.45am, several girls were seen shoving and pushing each other in an attempt to squeeze in alongside the legend who went back to his hotel.

Bolt, who has a long-time girlfriend, Kasi Bennett back home in Jamaica, has won an unprecedented nine gold medals in three consecutive Games.

A signed running shoe belonging to Bolt, meanwhile, was sold for 16,000 euros ($18,152, Dh66,617.8) in an internet auction. After 30 bids, the final amount doubled the initial expectations of the online auction house Catawiki that had valued the sports-themed lot at around 8,000 euros ($9,065), reports Efe.

The signed shoe belongs to a pair used by Bolt during the 2015 World Championship in Beijing for the 100 metre sprint, where he finished ahead of Justin Gatlin of the United States.

Apart from his gold in the 100m race, he won a further two golds in the 200m race and the 4×100m relay.

He was one of the stars of the recent Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games after winning the same three races and becoming the first athlete to earn three golds in the three track and field events at three Olympics in a row.
