Abu Dhabi: The season-ending Formula 1 Ethihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is just around the corner and it looks like Yas Marina Circuit will be buzzing with action in the 2015-2016 season.

The organisers have beefed up the calendar with new additions and will also focus on interacting with the fans better. “We have launched an exciting calendar of events and programmes to provide everyone in the UAE with a wide range of choice and underlines the circuit’s multi-purpose role within the community. We are constantly improving and extending our activities and look forward to welcoming all to the circuit for this coming season”, said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of the Yas Marina Circuit.

The Formula one race in November will see fans being provided with further digital engagement through the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix App ‘YasHUB’ and the ‘Ignite your Experience’ functionality. This will provide race enthusiasts with all the information needed for the weekend through their mobile phone.

For those looking to get behind the wheels to put driving skills to test at the circuit, Yas Marina Circuit also announced the launch of DriveYAS. Mercedes AMG has also come on board and now fans can experience a wide range of driving experiences.

The TRD 86 Cup, supported by Toyota Racing Development, will also be back this season. This single-make TRD 86 Cup will provide amateur racers an opportunity to drive in a professional and competitive environment. The TRD 86 Cup will run across six race days between October and April next year and those with previous experience can sign up for the ‘Gold’ category, with novices encouraged to take part in the ‘Silver’ category.

For those looking for raw power, you have the option of driving around the track in a Aston Martin, brand new Mercedes AMG or can try your hand in a Chevrolet SS drag racer. Also making a return is the Yas Super Street Challenge, Yas Marina Circuit’s local drag racing competition, which is back with bigger and better prizes across five categories over four rounds and will be held on January 7, 2016.

The third edition of the Gulf 12 Hours endurance race will be held from December 9-11 and the world’s top manufactures will be vying to top honours. The Rotax Max Challenge will be held on March 9-10, 2016 — this event is seen as a build-up event ahead of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals that will see more than 260 drivers from 60 countries participating across three categories.

For the bikers and car enthusiasts, there will be Bike Track Days and Track Days regularly scheduled in the next seven months. Yas Marina Circuit play host to the inaugural Abu Dhabi Cycling Tour in less than two weeks time, with the final stage held under light at the circuit.

“Whether you are a motorsport or racing enthusiast, or like to challenge yourself at our unique venue, we will continue to provide the biggest and best sporting and entertainment opportunities in the region. The team at ADMM look forward to welcoming you to the circuit,” added Al Ameri.
