Dubai: The ‘Ultimate Rookie Workshop’ - aimed at aspiring racing drivers and riders – will be opened by Mohammad Bin Sulayem, President, Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) on the eve of one of the busiest seasons in UAE motorsport.

The event will be free of charge and commence at 2 pm at Dubai Autodrome’s Suite 1, above the first pit garage, on September 5.

Providing aspirant racing drivers and riders the opportunity to acquaint themselves with exactly what it takes to get involved in UAE track racing, Saturday’s proceedings will be opened by Bin Sulayem, while UAE champions Costas Papantonis, Alex Annivas (Touring Cars) and Mamoud Tannir (Superbikes) will speak along with two-wheeler veterans, Steve Blackney and Alan Boyter. Guy Sheffield from the Al Ain Raceway and Dubai Kartdrome’s David Bright will conduct a karting workshop.

A selection of the top racing teams in the UAE will also be present, including AUH Motorsport (Radicals), GulfSport (Formula Gulf 1000), Gulf Petrochem (Touring Cars) as well as karting teams and suppliers including Scuderia Racing, OTK Middle East, Rotax UAE, CRG, Energy Dubai, Birel Art, Abu Dhabi Racing and Sodi Racing.

Participants can just turn up at the Dubai Autodrome to attend the workshops. A track evening will follow the workshops, where drivers and riders will get the opportunity to test.
