Abu Dhabi: The round 11 of the UAE Rotax Max Challenge at the Yas North Handling Circuit saw Amna Al Qubaisi winning third place in the Junior Max Category and her sister Hamda come in second in the final race of the day in the Mini Max Category. Round 11 also saw a record 26 entries in the Junior Max Category.

Amna put in a fantastic performance showing great pace throughout the day to come in third, her first podium. Her teammate in the Junior Max Category, Saeed Al Ali also showed great form and finishing just behind her in fourth. Salem Ibrahim and Ahmad Al Khamisi improved all day although Ahmed was spun by another driver on the first corner of the final race. Both drivers performed very well with times not far off the pace of the leaders. ‎

In the Mini Max Category, Hamda had a fantastic final race. Despite engine problems in the pre final which put her in a bad starting position, she executed some great passing moves to finish in second place.

Ali Al Shamsi showed great form in the Micro Max Category, he led the pre final for nearly two laps and had the pace to finish on the podium but unfortunately had a spin that dashed his chances.

“I am very proud of all the DSA drivers, their hard work and dedication is starting to pay off and I am confident we will continue to see positive results from the team in the final rounds of the season. I would especially like to thank Abu Dhabi Sports Council and ADMM (Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management) for all their support in the UAE Rotax Max Challenge which is the only National Karting Event Championship to be held on an F1 Circuit,” said Robert Cregan, Daman Speed Academy Program Director at ADR.
