Abu Dhabi: The Finali Mondiali (World Finals) Ferrari, to be held from December 3-6 at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, is set to thrill motoring fans in the UAE with fantastic racing action as well as some spectacular cars that are very rarely seen in public.

No fewer than 17 F1 single-seaters will participate in the event – the highest number of Ferrari F1 cars ever seen at a Final Mondiali.

More than 300 Ferrari owners from around the GCC region and over 200 cars from all over the world have confirmed their participation in the annual event staged by Ferrari.

A parade around the 5.5 km of the Abu Dhabi Formula One circuit, featuring around 200 Ferrari cars, will be among the highlights on Saturday evening.

Tani Hanna, the only driver from the Middle East to have participated in the Ferrari Challenge series for the 2013/2014 season, achieving two wins and eight podiums, will compete in three races at the event.

Speaking a press briefing in Dubai on Sunday, Hanna said: “It is indeed a great honour for me to participate and compete in the Ferrari Challenge Coppa Shell as well as the Gentlemen Cup events in Abu Dhabi. I will also be racing in the Finali Mondiali on Saturday with rival drivers from Europe and North America. I encourage all UAE motorsport fans to come and enjoy this experience of a lifetime and support the only car bearing the UAE national flag.”

Making an appearance for Scuderia Ferrari will be Ferrari F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, current FIA WEC world champions Gimmi Bruni and Toni Vilander and Ferrari F1 test driver Marc Gené.

Also present will be former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella and Davide Rigon and James Calado, who recently won the World Endurance Championship in Bahrain on November 17 at the wheel of the Ferrari 458 GTEPro.

Apart from the racing, among the highlights of the event will be the appearance of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team, who will put on demonstration runs, with pit stops, burnouts and starts on the Yas Marina Circuit.

Also on track will be the Ferrari GT cars that took part in the most prestigious GT championships, including the 458 GTE, the current FIA WEC championship-winning car, which was also victorious in the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours in the hands of Gimmi Bruni, Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella.

The weekend also features a display of Ferrari classic cars which have beaten all world records in the most important car auctions. A host of other activities are being organised in the paddock and other areas around the track, as well as something specifically for children.
