Dubai: Brazilian driver Felipe Drugovich recovered from Friday’s disappointment to take a win and second place in Round Two of the MRF Challenge 2017 held at the Dubai Autodrome.

Drugovich won the third race after overtaking Martono on Lap 2 with Martono finishing second while Karkosik came in third. However Martono struck back in the fourth race to take his first win of the season ahead of Drugovich and Rinus van Kalmthout. Drugovich currently leads the championship with 150 points, ahead of Martono (132) and van Kalmthout (124).

Championship leader Drugovich was thrilled with a tough weekend in Dubai. “Today was a really good day so I am very happy to extend my championship lead, and especially after our problem on Friday, today’s win is even more sweet,” he said.

Martono was over the moon to win his first race of the season after showing great pace the entire weekend. “I have been having a problem with my starts but today in Race 4 I really nailed it. When the safety car came out I knew I would have a tough time keeping the two guys behind me. But the car was good so to take my first win here feels good,” he said.
