Dubai: Syed Abdul Wahab and Shafee Ullah opened with convincing wins in the third round of the 2017 UAE Open Snooker Tournament being held at the Dubai Snooker Club.
While Wahab secured a 3-0 win over Abdul Rahman Buouf, Shafee Ullah was equally dominant in his 3-0 whitewash over Ahmad Sabri in the two matches played late on Sunday at the DSC premises in Karama.
Held under the auspices of the UAE Billiards and Snooker Federation, the tournament is being organised by the Dubai Snooker Club with sponsorship from Chocolate Advertising LLC who have put up Dh70,000 as the total prize money.
More than 100 players have confirmed for this annual competition. Top UAE players Mohammad Shehab and Mohammad Al Joker have been given direct seeding and will join the competition at a later date.
