Dubai: Team Cadillac outplayed defending champions Team VistaJet and Bombadier 13-9 to lift the 2015 Beach Polo Cup Dubai at Skydive Dubai late on Saturday.
Led by Argentinean profesional Matias Machado, it was Team Cadillac all the way as they took a comfortable 4-0 lead at the end of the opening chukker. With Tariq Al Bwardy and Sam Instone playing a perfect foil to Machado, it was a perfect end to an entertaining day of beach polo.
But the trio of Rashid Al Bwardy, Jan Bladen and Martín Valent comprising Team VistaJet did not give up as they fought back in the third chukker.
However, it was Machado and his tremendous talent all the way in the final period as Team Cadillac romped to a 13-9 win. Machado was rightly awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Earlier, Team Autism Rocks comprising of Stuart Wrigley, Saud Khoury and Maxi Malacalza defeated Team Lindt made up of Piero Dillier, Uwe Zimmermann and Lucas Labat 8-7 to walk away with the third place.
