Dubai: Hong Kong’s Super Jockey outpaced an international field to capture the inaugural Keeneland Korea Sprint (Group 1) on Seoul’s sand track yesterday.

Runner-up in the 2015 $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen at Meydan, Tony Millard’s eight-year-old delivered his best effort to win by four lengths from local hope Macheon Bolt.

Beachy Head, representing Emirati handler Ali Rashid Al Raihe was caught out for pace along with fellow Dubai raider and Musabah Al Muhairi-trained Art Wave in a fast run 1,200-metre contest.

Japanese raiders Chrusolite and Kurino Star finished first and second in the Keeneland Korea Cup (Group 1).

Dubai hopeful Need To Know, who is trained by former champion Al Raihe, did not run his true race and finished last of 16.

The Korea Cup offers a purse of 1.7 billion won (Dh5.6 million), the highest prize in Korea’s horse-racing history while the Korea Sprint is worth 700 million won (Dh2.3 million).
