Dubai: Arrogate, the favourite for Saturday’s Dubai World Cup at Meydan, has drawn Gate 9 for the big race, while Godolphin’s Move Up has drawn Gate 6.

Middle-of-the-field draws are considered preferable, while those nearer to the barrier can get crowded and those on the outside effectively have more work to do.

Both Arrogate’s trainer Bob Baffert and Move Up’s Saeed Bin Suroor of Godolphin will be happy to have drawn in the middle of the field.

Apollo Kentucky has drawn gate one followed by Long River, Gold Dream, Lani and Gun Runner. Move Up is in stall six, followed by Awardee, Furia Cruzada, Arrogate in gate nine, and Keen Ice, Neolithic, Hoppertunity, Special Fighter and Mubtaahij.
