Los Angeles: Czech star Radek Faksa re-signed with the Dallas Stars on Monday, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal worth $6.6 million (Dh24.24 million), the team said.

Faksa, 23, finished with 33 points from 12 goals and 21 assists in 80 games for Dallas last season, his first full year in the National Hockey League.

“We’re thrilled to have Radek locked in for the next three seasons as he is an important part of what we’re building here,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said in a statement. “He has proven to be a trustworthy, 200-foot player and we fully expect him to continue growing in all areas of his game.”

Faksa was chosen 13th overall by Dallas in the 2012 NHL draft, beginning his career with the franchise’s junior club the Texas Stars.

He played for the Czech Republic at the 2016 World Championships and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
