Dubai: Former One Direction band member Niall Horan will take part in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am alongside friend and golfer Rory McIlroy at Emirates Golf Club from January 25-28, it was announced on Tuesday.

Having previously caddied for McIlroy at a par-three contest at Augusta in 2015, the award-winning Irish artist who has sold over 70 million records, will now get the chance to play alongside the two-time Desert Classic winning Northern Irishman, who will be back to reclaim his title.

There will also be a chance for one lucky winner to play in the Pro-Am with Niall and Rory. They’ll also win a seven-night stay in Dubai, including flights, plus tickets to each day of the Classic for them and a friend.

In order to enter, users must download the VoxGolf App, play nine holes of golf on a VoxGolf registered course and submit their score through the App. If a course is not currently listed on VoxGolf, entrants should mail operations@voxgolf.com and the course will be added within 24 hours, allowing golfers from around the world to take part.

For those who prefer to observe rather than participate, there is the option of attending the Omega ‘Constellation Clinic’ at Emirates Golf Club’s driving range on January 26 from 5.30pm. Featuring Rory, Niall and professional women’s golfer Paige Spiranac, Rory and Paige will be showing Niall how to perfect his swing. All those who visit the tournament that day can also attend.

Players due to compete in the 2018 tournament include; Pat Perez, McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Darren Clarke, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Colin Montgomerie and Thomas Bjorn.
