Dubai: Mohammad Al Musharrekh and Ashok Kumar won the Indian Golfers Society’s end-of-season tournament this past weekend at the Emirates Golf Club. The tournament followed the two-man scramble format with the duo racking up 47 points to beat their closest rivals Antoin Breen and Shane O’Neil on a countback. Meanwhile, the team of Anil Shivanna and Anil Adnani finished third with 46 points.

Al Musharrekh and Kumar had three gross birdies in an impressive round and flourished on the back nine with a stream of pars and net birdies. Kumar also hit the straightest drive on the second hole.

Bipin Bhatia (4th hole) and Vikas Mathur (15th hole) were rewarded for their accuracy off the tee when they won the nearest to the pin prizes. Prizes for the longest drive were won by Shane O’Neil and Anand Lakhiani. Deccan McNaughton on the other hand won the nearest to the pin prize in three shots on the par-5, 18th hole.

A Bentley was on offer for acing the seventh hole and kept things interesting with players taking aim from the elevated tee although none were successful. George Duncan, Director of Bentley Emirates, presented the main team prizes.
