Dubai: Charley Hull was left to rue missed birdie opportunities that could have seen her catch up with Shanshan Feng in the final round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Englishwoman hit 65 to finish solo second at eight under par, two strokes behind Shanshan.

Her unblemished round of four outward birdies and three on the return was good but she was left to wonder what might have been.

“It could have been better, from 13 to 15 I edged the holes and thought they were in,” she said. “I holed a few and missed a few too, so it evened itself out.”

Asked if she was kicking herself, having also started the tournament slowly with opening rounds of 72 and 71, she replied: “Yes, I just couldn’t concentrate this week, I told my caddie I just couldn’t get into it and he said give yourself a slap, which is what I did today.

“I woke up today and got into my game more as I had been lazy all week, but today I dug in there and concentrated more.

“I did decently despite the windy conditions, so I’m quite happy with my score. Overall I had fun this week and put in a good performance.”
