Dubai: A new logo for the Race to Dubai was unveiled ahead of the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates on Wednesday.

The new brand, which incorporates Dubai Tourism’s logo, will be used from the start of next season.

Last year’s Race to Dubai and DP World Tour Championship winner, Rory McIlroy, said: “Given the fact that the UAE has been a massive part of my development as a golfer and a person, it’s great to see the European Tour and Dubai working together for the benefit of golf.

“My first European Tour cut and win was here [in Dubai] and I have made a number of friends in the Middle East. As my home away from home, in fact as a resident of Dubai, I love coming back and spending my time here to prepare for each season.”

Present at the unveiling were golfers Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Rafael Cabrera-Bello, along with European Tour chief executive officer Keith Pelley, general secretary of Dubai Sports Council Saeed Hareb, executive director of Jumeirah Golf Estates Abdul Aziz Bukhatir, managing director of Jumeirah Golf Estates Julian Small, customer relations manager of Jumeirah Golf Estates Salman Bin Karam, chief executive officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing Essam Kazim and President of the International Golf Federation Peter Dawson.
