Abu Dhabi: Arabian Gulf League defending Champions Al Jazira are set to sign Uzbek striker Sardor Rashidov on a two-year contract it is understood.

The 22-year-old, nicknamed CR10, will take the place of South Korean Park Jong-woo, whose contract has not been extended at the end of his two-year stint. The club, however, are yet to make an official announcement.

Rashidov is switching loyalties from Qatari Club El Jaish SC, whom he has been with since 2015 and scored 21 goals in 42 appearances. His previous clubs include FC Bunyodkor from 2009-2015, scoring 22 goals from 78 appearances.

Rashidov made his international debut for Uzbekistan in 2013 in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifying match against Vietnam. In the 2015 AFC Asian Cup group stage match against Saudi Arabia, Rashidov scored two goals to see Uzbekistan to a 3-1 win for a place in the quarter-finals.

Al Jazira earlier roped in France international Lassana Diarra, who quit Marseille in February.
