John Burridge - Oman-based former Hibs and Aberdeen goalkeeper

A lot of people will say Aberdeen are favourites because they are in the division above Hibernian, but Hibs are the defending Scottish Cup champions, have just won the Scottish Championship and now they are through to the semi-finals, so they are obviously a team on the move. They are also a bigger club than Aberdeen. The Dons may have done well under Alex Ferguson in the 1980s but they were nothing before they found oil. Hibs have a much bigger fanbase and they are one of those clubs where the crowd can get an extra 10 per cent out of the players. For that reason I would never bet against Hibs. The crowd will be well up for it, and it doesn’t matter where two sides are in the league tables, because when they meet in the cup it’s an entirely different matter. I’m going 2-1 Hibernian in today’s game.

Derek Whyte - Former Aberdeen captain

I think Aberdeen will have enough to make the final. Derek McInnes has had them pretty consistent this season on not that big a budget and will want to earn some more silverware.

Hibs have won the Scottish Championship and getting promoted is all that matters but they’ve not exactly run away with it. They’ve been inconsistent at times. They’re a big club, it’s good they’re back - they’ve got to be in the top division. Neil Lennon has done a good job and I think they can be top six next season. Aberdeen will be too strong - 2-1.
