Abu Dhabi: Marwan Bin Galita became the new president of UAE Football Association (UAEFA) on Saturday when he defeated Yousuf Al Sarkal by 19-15 votes. Al Sarkal had been one of the longest serving presidents of UAE FA and vice-president of Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Currently the head of Dubai’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera), Marwan Bin Galita had presented a four-point agenda for a revamped administration of the UAEFA – one of the main points of which is allotment of 25% of the UAE FA’s revenue for the smaller football clubs of the UAE.
