Sharjah: Al Embrator will face Al Jawareh in the final of the 2nd Sharjah Ramadan Football Championship (SRFC) with contrasting wins in Saturday’s semi-finals at the Sharjah Sports Club.

Al Embrator raced home to an emphatic 8-0 triumph over Al Watania, while Al Jawareh sent defending champions Royal packing off in a penalty shootout. The final will be held on Monday.

Watched by Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council and Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, and Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, it was Al Embrator stamping their class with an 8-0 mauling of Al Watania, while Al Jawareh fought with their backs against the wall over the defending champions to win in the shoot-out.

Marco Berge started the goal-scoring for Al Embrator in the ninth minute and six minutes later Abdul Karim Huzam doubled their lead.

Leading goal-scorer Abdul Rahman Fahd headed in to make it 3-0 for Al Embrator while taking his personal tally to 11 goals.

Fahd scored a second in the second minute of the second half and finally completed his hat-trick three minutes later. Mohammad Bouladi got his name on the scoresheet and Fahd finally rounded off the rout in the dying seconds of the match for an impressive 8-0 victory.

After a goalless first half, it was Bader Saeed breaking the deadlock for Royal. But the lead was short-lived as Rashid Obaid found an equaliser in the 18th minute. Obaid scored his second to give Al Jawareh the lead in extra-time, but Ahmad Yousuf drew level for Royal before Al Moataz Bellah Abdul Samei scored the third for Al Jawareh from a penalty. However, Ahmad Beshr equalised for Royal as the two teams tied 3-3 to force a penalty shoot-out that was won 4-3 by Al Jawareh.
