New Delhi: Delhi Dynamos rebounded from their opening match failure to notch their first victory of the second Indian Super League (ISL) season with a 1-0 result over Chennaiyin FC here on Thursday.

Defender Anderson Cardoso netted the match-winning goal from a penalty in the eighth minute in front of a disappointing crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium.

Nippy Brazilian Gustavo Dos Santos, one of the few positives in Delhi’s otherwise disappointing inaugural campaign last year, was lively and he created the goal. His cutback pass initially found no one inside the box, but was met with a strong shot by an advancing Hans Mulder, whose effort was blocked by Manuele Blasi’s hand. Referee Tejas Nagvenkar pointed to the spot, from where Cardoso scored.
