Abu Dhabi: Egyptian Ahmad Al Mohamady proved to be the nemesis for Al Ain as the midfielder scored a brace to hand relegated English Premier League side Hull City a 4-0 win in a preseason friendly at the home of SV Worgl in Tyrol, Austria, on Wednesday.

Hull City had led through a goal from Michael Dawson, in the first half while the tally was completed by Calaum Jahraldo-Martin.

In the previous friendly, Hull City had settled for a goalless draw against Bundesliga side Hannover 96, while Al Ain had lost to Uzbek side Lokomotiv.

The match started with rains rendering the ground slippery and Al Ain being the most affected. The Garden City club enjoyed a fair share of the possession in the first quarter.

Nigerian striker Emanuel Emenike, on loan from Turkish side Fenerbahce, had a great opportunity to find the breakthrough, but his shot found the side of the net as early as the fourth minute.

Playmaker Omar Abdul Rahman created opportunities by unsettling the Hull defence with his deft passes, but failed to get the breakthrough.

Finally, against the run of play, Hull opened the scores at the half-hour mark. Al Ain defence was caught napping when medio Lee Myung-joo missed a clearance off a corner and Dawson found the goal with a neat placement.

Spurred on by that goal, Hull started to take control of the proceedings and increased the lead to 2-0 immediately after the change of ends. In a freak goal unmarked Al Mohamady slotted the ball home.

Soon after Al Ain had an opportunity to reduce the margin. Emenike did all the spadework and found the mercurial Abdul Rahman, who just had the goalkeeper to beat but he delayed the shot and allowed Hull City’s defender El Mohamady to block his feeble attempt. El Mohamady again got into the scoring act, this time through a clinical header at the far post. Five minutes from time, Hull City added more misery on Al Ain as Jahraldo-Martin made it 4-0.
