London: Hull City’s new midfielder Robert Snodgrass will be out of action for up to six months due to a dislocated kneecap, the Premier League club announced via Twitter on Wednesday.

“[Manager] Steve Bruce has revealed Robert Snodgrass could be out for up to six months with a dislocated knee cap,” Hull said. “Everyone at the club would like to wish @robsnodgrass7 a speedy recovery.”

A £7 million (Dh42.85 million) close-season signing from Norwich City, 26-year-old Snodgrass injured his knee in the first half of Hull’s 1-0 league win at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The Scotland international wrote on Twitter: “Gutted ....!!! But I will work as hard as I can to come back fitter and stronger.”

Hull, runners-up in last season’s FA Cup final, visit Belgian side Lokeren on Thursday for the first leg of a Europa League play-off tie.
