Dubai: Al Nasr are at home to Al Jahra of Kuwait in the quarter-finals of the GCC Champions League from 8.30pm on Tuesday, while Al Shabab face Qatar’s Al Khuraitiat from 6pm on Wednesday.
Al Nasr progressed to the quarter-finals after finishing top of Group C with a 5-0 victory at home to Qatar’s Al Khor and a 1-0 win away to Bahrain’s Al Busaiteen before a 2-2 draw away to Al Khor and a 0-0 draw at home to Al Busaiteen.
Meanwhile, Al Shabab finished top of Group B after a 1-1 draw away to Saudi Arabia’s Al Shoalah and a 1-0 loss at home to Bahrain’s Al Muharraq before beating Al Shoalah 1-0 in Dubai and winning 2-1 against Al Muharraq in Manama.
In the other quarter-final matches, Oman’s Al Saham are at home to Bahrain’s Al Busaiteen on Tuesday and Oman’s Al Nahda are at home to Bahrain’s Al Muharraq on Wednesday.
Double leg semi-finals will be played on May 6 and May 13 before the final on May 18.
This is Al Shabab’s sixth GCC Champions League appearance in 21 editions of the competition. They won the tournament in 1992 and 2011. Al Nasr have only made one previous appearance, back in 1987.
