* Tillekeratne Dilshan (161*) scored the 21st century of his ODI career and third in World Cup matches. He narrowly beat his previous highest score in ODIs, which was 160* vs India at Hobart in 2012.
* Dilshan’s 161* set the record for highest score in ODIs without a six. The previous highest was jointly held by Hashim Amla and Brian Lara on 153.
* Kumar Sangakkara’s 105* was his 22nd ODI century and 5th versus Bangladesh. It was only his second century in World Cups.
* Sangakkara also became the fourth player to play 400 ODIs. Only Sachin Tendulkar (463), Sanath Jayasuriya (445) and Mahela Jayawardene (443) have played more.
* The unbeaten 210-run unbeaten partnership between Dilshan and Sangakkara is the third 200-plus stand by Sri Lanka in World Cup games — and Dilshan has been a part of all three.
* Sabbir Rahman’s score of 53 is the highest score by a Bangladesh No. 8 in a World Cup match.
* Sangakkara became only the second wicketkeeper in World Cup history to reach the milestone of 50 dismissals. The other is Australia’s Adam Gilchrist, who has 52.
* Scotland’s score of 210 is their highest in a World Cup match. Their previous best was 186/8 against South Africa at Basseterre in 2007.
* Samiullah Shenwari became the highest run-getter (1,194) for Afghanistan in ODIs, going past his captain Mohammad Nabi, who has 1,135.
* Afghanistan recorded the fifth World Cup win by a margin of one wicket. The other teams to do it are South Africa, Pakistan, England and West Indies.
* The ninth-wicket stands were the highest of the innings for both sides. For Scotland it was 62 by Majid Haq and Alasdair Evans, while for Afghanistan it was 60 by Shenwari and Hamid Hassan.
* Afghanistan’s win was their 25th in One day internationals and their first ever in a World Cup game.
