Lahore: Mohammad Aamir Jan, Secretary Sports of Punjab, has congratulated the Pakistan team on completing a clean-sweep in the three-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka here.

In his felicitation message on Monday, Aamir Jan appreciated Pakistan players’ excellent teamwork in the three-match series. He lauded the performances of left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir, all-rounders Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Usman Shinwari and veteran campaigner Shoaib Malek for their remarkable contributions to the team’s historic series triumph.

He also praised the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmad, who showed great command on a young team, especially in testing times. He said though Pakistan overwhelmed Sri Lankans in all departments and emerged winners in ODI and T20 formats, the Island nation cricketers won the hearts of entire nation by visiting Pakistan in the series finale.

Jan was hopeful that more international teams would tour Pakistan in future. “The tour of Sri Lankan cricket team is a message for rest of the world that Pakistan is a safe country and other sports teams of the world must visit Pakistan without any hesitation,” he elaborated.

“It’s not the first time Pakistan has hosted an international cricket team. Pakistan has hosted cricket teams of Zimbabwe, World XI and PSL final match in recent past, which is a big proof of changed scenario and improved security situation in Pakistan,” he asserted.

The official hoped that the Pakistan team will continue their amazing performance and winning streak in the forthcoming international series.
