Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Hamdan Catering defeated Electra Abu Dhabi by 66 runs to clinch the Safe Line Premier League Season 3 cricket tournament.
After being put into bat, Hamdan Catering posted 102 for two in the stipulated six overs. Ahmad Thoufeeq topscored with 64 off 19 balls while other useful contribution came from Saheer Ali Koya (26).
Both wickets in the Hamdan Catering’s innings were claimed by Marzook K.
Electra Abu Dhabi were in troubled waters soon after losing both openers Irfad Mohammad and Haris P K without opening their accounts.
Hallalu Andippatil (11) was the only batsman to reach double figures.
With wickets falling at regular intervals, Electra Abu Dhabi could only manage a mere 36 in six overs losing eight wickets.
Mashar Abdullah was the wrecker-in-chief for Abu Dhabi Hamdan Catering with exceptional figures of four for 10 from his two overs. Munashir Ahmad, Shanawas P and Ashfar Khan K.K claimed a wicket apiece.
Thoufeeq, for his knock of 64, was adjudged the Man-of-the-match.
In the semis, Hamdan Catering defeated Al Sada by 35 runs. Riding on the unbeaten knock of 55 off 25 balls from Thoufeeq, Hamdan Catering managed to post 80 for five in six overs.
In reply, Al Sada could only manage 46 for seven in six overs.
Electra Abu Dhabi had made it to the summit clash beating Iwin Boys UAE by 12 runs.
Put into bat, Electra Abu Dhabi scored 52 in six overs for the loss of eight wickets.
Haris P.K top scored for Electra Abu Dhabi with an unbeaten 20. Libu M Varkey was the pick of the bowlers for Iwin Boys with three for 19.
Chasing 53 for win, Iwin Boys couldn’t keep up with the run rate and the wickets added to their woes.
Eventually they could only muster 41, losing five wickets in six overs.
