Dubai: Dubai International stadium has geared up to produce exciting cricket in the coming days commencing with the Twenty20 International match between Pakistan and West Indies from today. This stadium located in the Dubai Sports City (DSC) has become a popular venue for Twenty20 contests, having hosted a record 34 international matches and hence all facilities have been made for a large turnout from the fans for the two T20 matches scheduled for today and tomorrow (September 23 and 24).

For fans to easily reach the venue by public transport bus F29 will run from the Mall of Emirates. The ticket prices start from as low as Dh40 for Saturday match and Dh50 for Friday.

Speaking to Gulf News, Maqbul Dudhia, general manager, Sports Business of DSC said: “We are proud of the fact that we are hosting a contest between present world champions against former champions in this format. The atmosphere here will be electrifying and we look forward to a boisterous crowd and hence request everyone to turn up early to catch the action from start.”

Dubai International stadium will also host the first ever Day/Night Test match in the UAE from October 13. For this match, the ticket rates will start from Dh20.

Meanwhile, Dubai-based business conglomerate Shaikhani Group, which has its roots in Pakistan, has announced that will be the associate sponsor for the series. Mahmood Shaikhani, managing director of Shaikhani Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with the Pakistan-West Indies series in the UAE, A good number of matches will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium within the Dubai Sports City, where we are developing five projects. Our involvement with sporting activities and Pakistani cricket team is deep rooted and will strengthen in the coming years as we continue to add value to the UAE economy and society.”.
