*Brendon Taylor (138) registered his eighth ODI century and second consecutive one in this World Cup.

* It was his first century against India in ODIs, his previous highest score being 81 at Bulawayo on 28-5-2010.

* It is also his second highest score in ODI cricket. His highest remains 145* vs SA at Bloemfontein, 15-10-2010.

* Taylor also became the first player to score a century against India this WC. The only side in the tournament not to concede a century now is the UAE.

* Seven of Taylor’s eight hundreds have unfortunately resulted in losses for his side. His only winning effort was the 119* vs Sri Lanka at Harare (7-6-2010).

* Brendon Taylor (433 runs) also became the first Zimbabwe batsman to score 400-plus runs in a single World Cup. The previous highest was of Neil Johnson, who scored 367 in the 1999 edition.

* When on 65 Brendon Taylor became the third highest run scorer for Zimbabwe in ODIs. He went past Alistair Campbell who has 5185 runs. Taylor has ended his Zimbabwe career with 5258 runs.

* Brendon Taylor has the unique distinction of having scored a duck (vs SL in 2004) in his first and a century in his last (vs Ind in 2015) ODI.

* Ravichandran Ashwin’s figures (10-0-75-1) is now his most expensive in ODIs. His previous most expensive was 10-0-74-1) vs WI at Vishakapatanam 2-12-2011.

* Suresh Raina registered his fifth ODI century. His last hundred came against England at Cardiff 15 innings ago!

* He is only the second Indian to score a hundred in a WC match at number 5. The only other being Vinod Kambli who scored 106 also vs Zimbabwe at Kanpur (1996).

* The undefeated stand of 196* is now the second highest partnership for the fifth wicket in all World Cups. The highest is 256* between David Miller and J.P. Duminy, also vs Zimbabwe at Hamilton (2015).

* Suresh Raina and M.S. Dhoni have now been involved in nine hundred-plus stands in ODIs. India have won seven, lost one and tied one.

* This is now the highest total successfully chased by India in a World Cup match. The previous record was India’s 277-4 in reply to Sri Lanka’s 274-6 in the WC final of 2011.

* India have now won their 10th consecutive match in WC tournaments. The winning streak began the match before the QF of the 2011 edition. With this win Dhoni goes past the 9 wins of Clive Lloyd’s 9 between 1975-1979. Only Ricky Ponting with 24 now has more.
