Abu Dhabi: LLH Hospital celebrated a maiden title triumph in the capital after a four-wicket victory over DHL Lions in the final at the Nursery Oval to clinch the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council Twenty20 Plate.

Opener Safeer Ahmad stroked 48 off 37 balls, and No. 4 batsman Shahid Gill smashed 46 off 28 in LLH Hospital’s run-chase after dismissing DHL for 173.

Ahmad and Gill both hit half-a-dozen fours and a six each in their knocks and featured in a match-winning 93-run stand for the third wicket.

LLH Hospital, electing to bowl first, had both the DHL openers back in the pavilion early and then kept on chipping in with wickets at regular intervals.

Rizwan Shaikh was the only batsman to come up with a knock of substance for DHL. Arriving at the crease after the fall of the first wicket at seven, he thumped seven sixes and four fours in a top score of 77.
