Dubai: Ibsons Cricket Club and Wings XI revealed their strength in the ongoing Ramadan cricket tournaments, recording two successive victories.

Ibsons defeated the strong Yogi Group by 35 runs after romping past Farooq Cricket Club by 38 runs in the Dubai Cricket Council’s second Interface Ramadan Cup.

Meanwhile, Wings XI, who had defeated JRT Global in the opening match of the 11th Dulsco Ramadan Twenty20 tournament, outplayed Enoc by 37 runs in their second match.

Ibsons stormed to victory thanks largely to Parvaiz Nasir’s whirlwind unbeaten 66, studded with seven sixes and two fours. His knock helped Ibsons post 170 for 8 at the ICC Global Cricket Academy ground and restrict Yogi Group to 135 for 9. Fayyaz Ahmad’s tight spell of 3 for 11 was backed by Kamran Shehzad and Zohaib Akhtar, who took two wickets each.

Wings won their match against Enoc in a low-scoring encounter. Wings could score only 137 for 9 with Usman Mohammad top-scoring with 35 runs. Enoc were bowled out for 100.

At Al Dhaid in the fourth Al Dhaid Ramadan tournament, organised by Sharjah Cricket Council, Lanka Lions defeated Yogi Group by nine runs. The match witnessed deadly spells from Lanka Lions’ Tharaka Samaratunga and Aruna Bandaranayake, who took four wickets each to bowl out Yogi Group for 112, chasing Lanka Lions’ total of 121.

In the Abu Dhabi Al Aqili Twenty20 Ramadan Cup, New Medical Centre booked their place in the last-eight stage after resounding back-to-back victories. First, they ended the unbeaten run of Phoenix Medicine with a five-wicket triumph and then thrashed Abu Dhabi Airport Services by 10 wickets, knocking off the winning runs in 2.5 overs.
