Abu Dhabi: Indian Premier League outfit Chennai Super Kings announced a sponsorship deal with UST Global, a California-based IT Service and solutions company, on Monday.

The UST Global logo will appear on the leading arm of the playing shirt and on the back of the team’s helmets and caps.

Present at the announcement of the three-year deal were captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, coach Stephen Fleming and all-rounder Suresh Raina.

Dhoni said: “Sponsors are a big part of any sport, not only cricket, and it is good to have good companies getting associated with us. It actually gives us the responsibility of trying to achieve more and at the same time playing in the right spirit.”

Dhoni added that he was delighted that the first function that he had attended on arrival for the IPL in the UAE was a sponsorship deal for his team. “We can say today is the first day of the IPL. Before the cricket starts, what really starts is the meet-and-greets as we meet people from different formats.”

Sajan Pillai, the CEO of UST Global, said: “I am delighted to be announcing this partnership with the Chennai Super Kings on the eve of the seventh edition of the IPL.

“Chennai Super Kings are innovators and pioneers of what has become one of the most valuable sports leagues in the world, and an ideal partner for our expanding business.”
