Dubai: The top official from Victory Team has reiterated the team’s mission while fielding a second boat for the final two races of the 2017 UIM XCAT World Championship in Dubai, this week.

“Our aim is to dominate the podium,” Huraiz Al Mur Bin Huraiz, the chairman of the Victory Team board of directors, told Gulf News on Tuesday.

“Perhaps, it is a bit late in the season to enter a second boat. But this is very much the policy of Victory Team where we have always had a strong presence in powerboat racing since our entry into the sport in 1986. The technical committee came up with this recommendation and we went along with that.”

Bin Huraiz also justified mid-season signings into the set-up. “Gary [Ballough] comes in with loads of experience, and even in the future we are committed in consolidating our team in various categories of racing from F1 to XCATs,” he noted.

“The idea behind this is to keep the Victory Team name up there and carry on with the success of the team. Our doors are always open to talent, and we will continue recruiting new names in the future as well,” Huraiz added.
