Dubai: DPS Sharjah and Earnest Eagles won against the Saintz Arabian Gazelles and Dubai Angels respectively in the women’s division of the Berry Hills 10th Indian Basketball League 2015 on Thursday.
The Earnest Eagles dominated throughout to register a 45-18 win over Dubai Angels, after DPS Sharjah had won a close match 43-34 against Saintz Arabian Gazelles.
In the men’s section, the Imperial Knights beat Duplast Falcons City Fives 79-68, while the Blue Rhine Eagles beat Pond Parkers 53-38.
NIMS Sharjah and Our Own Sharjah registered narrow wins against Indian High Dubai and DPS Sharjah respectively in the Under-19 inter-schools division league.
NIMS led 12-6 in the first quarter but IHS reduced the gap to one point 19-20 at half-time. NIMS extended the gap to five points (34-29) at the final intermission. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the fourth quarter but NIMS were more accurate towards the end, clinching a key 48-46 victory with Taufeeq topscoring with 19 points and Lavesh Zutung responding with 17 points for Indian High.
Our Own Sharjah clinched an exciting 52-50 victory over DPS Sharjah in another match with Vysakh Alunkal netting 24 points for Our Own Sharjah and Harjot Singh contributing 14 points for DPS Sharjah.
