Dubai: Dubai Holding has announced world record-holder Kenenisa Bekele as the ambassador for the Dubai Holding Wellness Programme.
The 32-year-old Ethiopian was unveiled as the wellness programme’s ambassador on Sunday with the hope that his presence at the annual Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon on January 23 will help motivate people to a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the Dubai Holding Wellness Programme, employees and residents of the country in general are encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle through some sort of daily sporting activity. “And Kenenisa fits our philosophy as he is constantly pushing his limits and challenging himself to do better. As our ambassador, Kenenisa will help promote health and fitness at Dubai Holding, in Dubai and throughout the UAE,” said Ahmad Bin Byat, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Holding.
Established in 2007, the programme is a first of its kind in the region with a basic target audience of nearly 22,000 employees across the Dubai Holding Group. “The programme also reaches out to general society and throughout the UAE,” he added.
