ATHLETICS French steeplechaser out of Olympics
Tahri fails to recover from tibia surgery
Paris European 3,000-metre steeplechase record holder Bob Tahri has withdrawn from the Olympics after failing to recover from an operation on his left tibia. Tahri said that his recovery time from the September operation to hitting an Olympic qualifying time had been too tight.
“I resumed training in April but it’s not enough time before the July 6 Diamond League meeting in Paris when a qualifying time would have to be achieved,” the 33-year-old said.
