Dubai:

The Dubai Sports Council and Zabeel Ladies Club have joined hands to announce the launch of the First Zabeel Ladies Run on November 28.

To be held at the Zabeel Park, the inaugural Zabeel Ladies Run is being held under the patronage and participation of Shaikha Hessa Bint Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The launch of the run was announced at a press conference on Sunday in the presence of Moza Al Ali, Director General, Zabeel Ladies Club and Shaima Ali Malek, Manager, School Activities at Women’s Sports Department, DSC.

The run will be held over a distance of 4.5km with a start and finish at the Zabeel Park. Participants will be classified in two categories, namely those till 35 years and those above 35 years. Organisers have urged the runners to report at 7am at Gate 3 of Zabeel Park so that the race can be flagged off at 8am.

“Each participant will receive a bag of goodies including a jersey along with several gifts. At the end of the race we will have a special programme for women where coaches and trainers from Zabeel Ladies Club will be at hand to explain an injury-free pursuit of staying healthy,” said Dr Moza Al Ali.

“The main aim of organising this race is to make women aware on the benefits of staying active and fit while giving them a glimpse of the facilities we have at the Zabeel Ladies Club,” she added.
