Dubai: The Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has signed an agreement with Tri Race Events Management to be the title sponsor for the Palm Run 2019. Part of CBD’s strategy to promote and reinforce a healthy and active lifestyle, the agreement was signed by Dr Bernd van Linder, CEO, CBD and Christian Berglehner from Tri Race Events Management.
Scheduled to be held on 18 January 2019, the run will take place on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, with the start and finish points outside the Atlantis The Palm Hotel. The route will allow runners to enjoy some of Dubai’s iconic landmarks like Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Dubai Ferris Wheel.
The Palm Run is a family fun event targeting all ages, with three categories for adults, the 10km, a 5km and 3km while kids have a 2km and 1km race. To help participants prepare for the run, the Palm Run organisers also plan to provide structured training programmes and weekly group training sessions managed by elite athletes. The 2018 Palm Run attracted more than 1,000 entries, and organisers are expecting bigger numbers the next time.
