Dubai: Over 600 corporates have been confirmed for the upcoming ‘Dubai Dash’ set to take place from 4.30pm at the Dubai Sports City on December 9.

Corporate teams of 8-10 are taking up the challenge of running a 1.5km route around the Dubai Sports City course with each team covering a total distance of 15km. The event is a short-distance team race, which is accessible to all — be it a seasoned runner or a sporting newbie.

The race will be followed by an after-party in the sports village, which is open to all participants and supporters. The after party will crown the winners and celebrate the completion of the event, giving teams the chance to network and share experiences.

Teams will be taking part in a training session for the big race on November 25 to mark the UAE National Sports Day.

“We are delighted with the reaction in the market for this unique event, proving very popular as a corporate wellness and team-building activity for many organisations,” said Sally Corander, Managing Director of organisers Interact Events.

Supported by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), registered teams so far include ESP International, DHL, Gulf Finance Corporation, Access Engineering, Enoc, Arabian Radio Network, Osteopathic Health Centre, Informa Exhibitions, DMG Events, Custard Communications, Ultimate Athletics, IQPC and Allen & Overy among others.

“Dubai Sports Council is delighted to support this unique event. As a first event of its kind event to be held in the UAE, it’s a great pleasure to add Dubai Dash to Dubai’s sporting calendar,” said Nasser Al Rahma, Director of Events, DSC.
