Al Ain: Al Ahmad emerged as the overall winner of the final UAE National Monthly Medal of this season, played last Saturday at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting, & Golf Club (AESGC). Ahmad logged a Stableford score of 40 points.

Coming in second place was Akram Skaik of Dubai with Stableford score of 35, five points behind the leader. Mohammad Al Banna of Dubai finished in the third spot. After having a tough front nine (14 points) Al Banna bounced back, scoring 20 points on the back nine for a total Stableford score of 34 points.

Sohail Al Marzouqi of Dubai won the Nearest to The Pin competition that took place on hole six.

The overall Gross winner was Khalid Yousuf of Dubai, whose two-over par 73 was good enough for the title. Yousuf was also the winner of the Longest Drive competition.

Winning Division A with a Stableford score of 33 was Ahmad Skaik of Dubai. Hassan Al Marzouqi (34) won the Division B prize.

The Junior Division was a close affair when Mahmoud Skaik of Dubai winning by a stroke with an impressive 52. Mahmoud also won the Longest Drive competition in the Junior Division.

Tara Al Marzouqi of Abu Dhabi fell one shot short with a 53. Rounding out the top-3 was Khalid Al Mutawa of Abu Dhabi with a 59.

The Skaik family stole the show at this month’s Monthly Medal event by taking home two first place prices and one-second place prize.

The next national event will be the Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup, to be hosted at the Faldo course at the Emirates Golf Club on May 3. The competition will be in full force as many Emiratis are expected to make a statement at this highly anticipated.
