US lawmakers are an odd collection of individuals, many with dubious records and are subservient to the lobbies that secretly keep them on their payroll. And no lobby is more powerful or with deeper pockets to ensure the committed loyalties of US lawmakers than the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), an organisation solely devoted to buying and influencing American loyalty first and foremost towards Israel.

When lawmakers, some who have been under ethical or legal clouds of many wrongdoings — including accepting bribes and other felony charges — are seduced with sweet offerings, it is not very difficult to persuade such individuals to promote Israeli interests over what is good for the US.

Aipac also gathers a lot of assistance from mainstream media, much of it controlled or influenced by pro-Zionist owners or editors who promote and report what is favourable to Israel and conveniently downplay the atrocities and state-sponsored terrorist acts that rain down upon hapless Palestinians. Aipac is a menace that singularly promotes Israeli interests above American ones and effectively uses American politicians for that purpose.

Very few American lawmakers have had the courage and the will to confront this dangerous enemy within. It is a fact today that Israeli sympathisers in the American political arena were successful in creating the mesmerising but false threat of weapons of mass destruction that Iraq supposedly had in its possession and was intending to use against the US. This self-serving act led the US to war against a country that had no ties to the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington. Nor were any weapons of mass destruction found there. It was a war that took the lives of innocent Iraqis and Americans and led to an economic blow-back against the US, which left the country’s economy in deep trouble. It was all in the interests of Israel.

Today those same principles are working overtime to project Iran as the next biggest threat to world peace. Notwithstanding nuclear talks that are heading to acceptable plateaus of understanding, the Zionist machine is undeterred in trying to project an imminent attack on American soil and using its loyal followers in the American legislature for that purpose. Iran has shown a willingness to cooperate in nuclear talks. And yet the Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuses to allow us to believe that things could be moving in the right direction.

The Israeli plan is becoming blatantly obvious to many, not only in the region but in Europe and elsewhere. With most of the countries in the Middle East embroiled in internal unrest caused by wars and incursions and weakened, Israel stands to gain by quietly encroaching and expanding its illegal occupation and building of colonies on Palestinian land. Diabolically, they employ US lawmakers beholden to them to further their interests. These lawmakers decided to up the ante of sanctions against Iran while the talks were still going on.

Unprecedented inspections

This group of lawmakers has now also taken the unprecedented step of inviting Netanyahu to address the Congress on Iran without consulting US President Barack Obama, which is a clear violation of American protocol. The invitation came a day after Obama’s State of the Union Address, in which he clearly stated: “Iran has begun to eliminate its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium. It is not installing advanced centrifuges. Unprecedented inspections help the world verify, every day, that Iran is not building a bomb. And with our allies and partners, we’re engaged in negotiations to see if we can peacefully achieve a goal we all share: Preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

“These negotiations will be difficult ... But these negotiations do not rely on trust; any long-term deal we agree to must be based on verifiable action that convinces us and the international community that Iran is not building a nuclear bomb. If John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan could negotiate with the Soviet Union, then surely a strong and confident America can negotiate with less powerful adversaries today.”

Obama further said: “Let me be clear: If this Congress sends me a new sanctions bill now that threatens to derail these talks, I will veto it. For the sake of our national security, we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed.”

Obama is doing everything in his powers in the interest of his country and to ensure peace. And yet his lawmakers are hell-bent on pushing the country’s giant military complex into a war with Iran without giving peace a chance. This group of US lawmakers is defying all protocols of democracy by inviting a war criminal to address their assembly.

The American public must themselves rise up to the dangers of Zionism within and confront it — an enemy whose philosophy is no different from apartheid. Their lawmakers have apparently sold their soul to the devil.
