The repercussions of the EgyptAir plane crash and the death of all passengers and crew are escalating with every passing day, said the UAE’s Al Bayan. “The haters are still spewing their poison to damage the reputation of Egypt and that of its institutions. Their only goal is to harm the Egyptian economy, charge the people with sentiments of hatred and weaken confidence in the country’s stability and security. It is during such hard times that your friends and enemies re revealed. The UAE is, and always will be, the closest friend of Egypt and its people. This fact was emphasised during the recent telephone call between His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi, in which Shaikh Mohammad expressed the UAE’s solidarity with Egypt and its people.”

Egypt overcame many difficult and painful tests in recent times — thanks to its capabilities in facing and surpassing challenges, said Egypt’s Al Ahram. “Egypt will soon also succeed in overcoming the plane crash crisis, despite the magnitude of the incident and profound sadness for the victims. Egypt will overcome this challenge with the support of brotherly and friendly nations, which quickly announced their full support for Cairo and operations to locate the debris of the missing EgyptAir aircraft. Another reason to be optimistic that Egypt will surpass this crisis is the professional and impartial way in which the Egyptian authorities handled the incident. The authorities refused to jump to conclusions before the investigations were completed.”

Qatar’s movement is founded on the basis of national responsibility, as it exerts every possible effort to avoid violence in Yemen, which was torn apart by the fighting.

“It is certain that the resumption of Yemeni talks in Kuwait is the last chance for Al Houthis and their allies. They have to shoulder their national responsibility and forsake their narrow-minded ambitions by putting Yemen’s interest before everything else. This will help rescue the country from the fighting and destruction, so that it can once again become ‘Happy Yemen’, as it was once called by fellow Arab nations.”

Prior to the Yemeni talks, the Arab coalition and Yemen’s legitimate government said that the goal behind the negotiations is to agree upon mechanisms for implementing international resolutions, said Saudi Arabia’s Al Yaum.

“The legitimate government headed to Kuwait is fully aware that Al Houthis and [former president of Yemen] Ali Abdullah Saleh are simply looking for never-ending negotiations. The ongoing talks are the final opportunity, and it seems everyone recognises that it is important for the legitimate government to be more decisive and strong when it comes to the future of Yemen. The government had already given enough time to reach an agreement that can stop the bloodshed. But there are those who are power-thirsty and think that their actions are heroic ...”
