The acknowledgement of being the Arab Environment Capital for 2015, chosen by the Organisation of Islamic Capitals and Cities, is the result of years of hard labour and planning emanating from a vision for Abu Dhabi. The honour bestowed upon the UAE’s capital is a distinction for the entire country.

It is a statement of intent for environmental conservation and the leader’s commitment towards this cause. Abu Dhabi has multiple environmental initiatives active and supported generously by the authorities in funding and execution of ideas. These concepts have trickled down to the roots of society and knowledge on how to sustain it for the future is being imparted in centres of education and learning, as well as collaboration is being initiated between key stakeholders.
