New York: How far would you go to take the perfect selfie? For 33-year-old Christa Hendershot, it was worth going under the knife to make sure her hands looked their best in pictures she took wearing her engagement ring.

Not happy with their appearance, she went to a dermatologist to make her hands more “selfie worthy”.

Within minutes of the hand rejuvenation procedure, Hendershot was happier about the way her hands looked.

“The veins are not as blue,” she said.

She shelled out more than $3,000 (Dh11,017) for the filler procedure, ABC 7 New York reported.

According to her plastic surgeon, Dr Ariel Ostad, there has been an increase in the number of his clients who bring selfies into his office to point out their bodily flaws to him.

Dumb smartphone thief

Meanwhile, a dumb smartphone thief posted a picture of himself on his victim’s Facebook page.

To Courtney Jiles’ surprise, she saw a selfie of a man on her Facebook page, presumably taken by the person who stole her phone.

The picture came with the caption “Earlymornin selfy lol”.

“He had accidentally logged on to my Facebook instead of his when he turned it on and posted it to my Facebook instead of his own,” Jiles was quoted as saying.

“Very dumb criminal but works out for me I guess,” she added.

Jiles’ iPhone 4 was stolen from her car’s console in Hillsborough County, Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported.

The selfie has now been handed over to police who are investigating the case, Betabeat reported.
