Mithi, Pakistan: One more girl has died at Mithi Civil Hospital, in the Tharparkar district of Pakistan’s Sindh province, putting the death toll at 212.

The region is in the grip of a monthslong drought, with no end in sight. The flow of patients continues with more than 40 children still under treatment at the hospital.

Another girl passed away due to malnutrition here recently, health officials said.

Meanwhile the drought-hit residents are facing problems in receiving the relief money announced by the government.

Three private banks, one in Chachro along with a Government bank in Mithi, are providing temporary ATM facilities.

However technical problems, shortages of cash and other problems have hampered distribution of the funds.

With the advent of summer and the rise in temperatures, many NGOs have cut back on their work while the government’s activities have also slowed down.
