Karachi: A senior leader of Pakistan’s People Party (PPP) on Saturday denied rumours that former Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari was getting married again. He began his political career after marrying the slain prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Social media was abuzz with claims of Zardari’s second marriage after a Pakistani journalist tweeted the news.
Journalist Asad Kharal claimed in his tweets that it was the second marriage which had created a serious rift between Zardari and his son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who had lately dissociated himself from Pakistani politics soon after he held a rally in Karachi to mark the beginning of his political carrier.
Bilawal did not even turn up home at the seventh death anniversary of his mother, Benazir Bhutto, on December 27.
The journalist did not name the woman to whom the widower was getting married to.
Aitezaz Ahsan, the senior PPP leader, however, strongly denied the news about the second marriage of Zardari and his dispute with Bilawal over the issue. He said that there was no truth in such kind of news.
