Abu Dhabi: The Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation has allocated Dh20 million to cover costs related to Haj this year for 1,000 Emiratis who cannot afford it.

Ahmad Shabib Al Daheri, Director-General of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, stated that Shaikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of the foundation’s board of trustees, and Shaikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy chairman of the board of trustees, had endorsed a budget covering expenses related to the pilgrimmage of 600 Emiratis inside the UAE and 400 Emiratis abroad.

He added that Dh3.6 million will also be allocated to Emirati pilgrims abroad.

While honouring the directors of Haj missions during the pilgrimmage of 2013, Al Daheri said the foundation follows the legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan in assisting those aged 40 and above who planned to perform Haj but could not afford to do so.

He noted that the foundation will receive applications from all emirates across the country. For those abroad, applications must be submitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UAE embassies.
