Al Ain: The weather is likely to be rough this weekend with strong winds, cloudy conditions, a dip in temperature and light rain in some areas.

Forecasters have warned motorists, fishermen and joyriders to be extra cautious as strong winds are likely to hit the UAE on Thursday night. Motorists could face visibility problems on highways and in the open and desert areas across the emirates.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has also issued a marine warning for Thursday and Friday, saying the sea will be rough while conditions inland could become dusty, windy, and overcast.

The maximum temperature will be around 34 degrees Celsius in Dubai and most of the coastal areas across the country during the next three days. Conditions are expected to be hotter in inland areas with the mercury shooting up to 44 degrees Celsius.

Forecasters at the NCMS said the weather will be hazy and partly cloudy at times on Thursday, especially in the eastern and southern emirates, with a chance of light rainfall. Temperature is expected to fall under the influence of northerly and north-westerly dusty winds affecting horizontal visibility at times.

Unsettled conditions will continue on Friday with similar weather conditions. The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and moderate to rough in the Sea of Oman, according to the national weather bureau.
