Abu Dhabi: The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged motorists to exercise caution, reduce speed and leave enough space between vehicles, due to ongoing storms which kick up dust.

The Centre expected in a statement Friday the formation of cumulus clouds, accompanied by rains and strong winds in some eastern areas of the country.

On Friday, NCMS warned against some convective clouds assocaited with rain and strong winds over the country's eastern areas.

At around 4pm on Friday, NCMS reported heavy rains in the country's eastern parts.

Meanwhile, police have also urged motorists to stay up-to-date with the weather forecasts by following the news bulletins, as low-visibility conditions occur throughout the year.

Dos and don'ts during low-visibility drive

Do not attempt to overtake other vehicles or change lanes.

In an extremely low-visibility drive, park you vehicle on the right shoulder of the road.

Once parked, your the vehicle's hazard lights to ensure safety.

Do not use hazard light lights while your car is moving.

Do not use the vehicle’s high-beam lights, as the intensity of the light reflects (off the fog) and further obstructs visibility.
